Rainy last day in New York
The mellow feeling I had since yesterday was perfectly supported by the weather today. It was gloomy and raining all day. Our local host Josephine said, it’s because the angels are sad that we’re leaving the town this Tuesday. Oh so sweet.. :’) She also gave each of us cute dolls as souvenir ^.^ Thanks Josephine, you’re the best!
We had morning meeting with New York State Small Business Development Center (NYS SBDC) in Rochester Metro Center. NYS SBDC delivers high quality business counseling and training to New Yorkers who want to start a business or improve the performance of an existing business.*
We had lunch buffet in Tandoor of India in 376 Jefferson Road. It was delicious, plenty of choices, all you can eat, and not expensive :D The owner was so nice, he came and asked how was the food, and also took pics with us ^.^
Moved on to Highland Ave where we have meeting with Rochester Women’s Network. It is a premier networking organization for career-minded women that represents the diversity and uniqueness of the Rochester community. The group fosters the personal and professional growth and advancement of women in the workplace and community.*
Last meeting today was with Intervol, a Rochester community based non-profit organization dedicated to serving others through the recovery and redistribution of medical supplies and equipment; to bridging local hospitals and medical professionals with other countries and care-giving organizations in areas of need; and to providing international educational support.
We had fun worked alongside other volunteers to sort and inventory supplies. We are given duties to sort out needles based on its size, and we had a very good laugh for the jokes upon it. We became a bit crazy throwing smirky jokes, lol! Well it helps a lot to loosen up the tense inside caused by the homesick :)
On our way back to hotel, we dropped by to Marshall coz some delegates badly need extra luggage. Damn, it was much cheaper there compared to Macy’s! My friend got 30" Samsonite for $79 only!! While the other day I paid double for 21" Samsonite. But I like the color and the original price was also doubled, so.. No regret :))
Cheers!
