Tech Startups, Lake Ontario, Baseball and Fireworks!

I was wrong when I said there’s no limousine service anymore. In fact, we still got the service but it comes in a big bus, yeay! And oh, I forgot to mention how energetic our local host, Josephine. She’s a 60ish Italian-born who has been living in Rochester since 1970s.

The day started with a visit to Venture Creations, Rochester Institute of Technology in Tech Park Drive. It’s an incubator for mid-seed stage companies. We did a quick tour to the incubator space as well.

Moved on to High Tech Rochester, a nonprofit whose mission is to be catalyst for entrepreneurship and innovation-based economic development. We are also scheduled to have meeting with The Entrepreneurs Network, one of Upstate New York’s fastest growing initiatives designed to bolster new ventures and established firms. Unfortunately the person in charge couldn’t make it to see us today.

We had lunch in Tops Brighton Plaza area. Don’t be tricked by the name, the plaza here is no fancy like Plaza Indonesia. It’s more like Giant in suburban area. I had a super HUGE submarine split with Mr. K and still couldn’t finish it so I saved it for breakfast, LOL. It only cost us $6/each with refill pepsi. Total steal :))

Then we had a warm meeting in Ukrainian Federal Credit Union with the Director, CEO, COO and Loan Underwriter. They showed us the community center and library with all the memorabilia inside.

On our way back to hotel, our volunteer driver was so generous to take us to Ontario Lake, the frontier of Rochester, US and Toronto, Canada. We came in perfect timing when the sun shines brightly and dozens swans swim. Beautiful.

We dropped by at Macy’s for shopping. I got myself a pair of cutie pinky flat shoes aaandd.. A brand new 21" Samsonite luggage :D Yeah Shirley you got it right, I definitely need extra suitcase and yes hubby, sorry for not listening to your suggestion earlier :))

At night we went to Frontier Field to watch baseball live, yeay!! Finally I can feel the vibe of watching America’s most popular sport game. It’s truly joyful to feel the fresh air, watching the game, and had our dinner as well. And you know what? They had the fireworks show after the event! It was super wonderful… As if the excitement was not enuff, they also provided free cheese cake and chocolate cake in the field for everyone ^.^ Wutta perfect way to end the day :)

Cheers,
