NFIB, CAPS, Topeka, Capitol Building, BTBC-KU
First meeting of the day was with National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB), a state’s largest small-business association with about 4000 dues-paying members. It is a lobbying organization that focus on the impact of current and proposed legislation on business and professional practices.
Next meeting was with Blue Valley Center for Advanced Professional Studies (CAPS). Junior & senior level students from all Blue Valley high schools join together in a unique learning opportunity to deeply explore their interests in profession-based learning approach. We had a tour of the whole building and amazed by how cool & complete the facilities are. Wow!
For lunch, we had buffet in Bangkok Pavilion Thai Restaurant. Delicious all you can eat food for only $12, recommended by home hospitality host of the other group last night. Good choice!
We continue our journey to Topeka, having a tour of the Kansas State Capitol Building, built in 1867-1903. It was sooo beautiful inside & outside.
Our last meeting of the day was with Kansas University Bioscience and Technology Business Center in Lawrence. There are 30 companies joining here including Garmin, well-known for its reliable GPS system.
On our way back to hotel, we dropped by at Oklahoma Joe’s BBQ for dinner. It’s the most famous bbq resto in the area, no wonder there’s such a long line up! But for me the taste still couldn’t beat the famous ribs in Ubud.
After that we did a bit shopping at nearby stores for a while and went back to hotel.
Cheers,
