The camera feature on my ipad2 that I bought last month is not working since last Thursday. So today I took it to apple service center in authorized reseller. The staff said, since there’s a scratch in my ipad so the guarantee is automatically gone. And after they tried to restore it, the camera is still not working. The best solution the staff can offer is to swipe it with a new one that would cost me $340 (which is more expensive than the price I paid when I bought it with promo price from First media, only $250).
Felt unsatisfied,I tried my luck to the other authorized reseller on the next floor, still on the same mall. The procedure went the same: they checked the body first then after found out there was a scratch, they can do nothing about it *sigh. The staff suggested me to bring the ipad to its apple store in singapore / US, where they could probably replace it with a new one or if there’s a charge, it would be less expensive.
So I went off the store felt disappointed. Not only the problem is not solved yet, all my settings are restored to zero, all the apps bought are uninstalled, and all my data are gone including my holiday pics. I didnt back it up either in icloud or dropbox. Thou I still have some of them posted in instagram / facebook / twitpic / tumblr. But still, some good shots were totally gone. At first I wanted to feel sad, but then I said to myself, heck, it’s just a pile of pics. I can make bunch of new ones. Besides, why must be so hard to let go things that we dont even need when we die? :)
