Was sharing as a panelist at Canada-Indonesia TPSA seminar “Enhancing Women-Owned SMEs’ Access to Capital: Special Focus on Footwear, Apparel, and Coffee Industries” in Bandung yesterday.
.
The panel comprised of 5 panelists from bank (Bank BJB), government (BEKRAF), peer-to-peer lending (Modalku & Investree), angel investor (myself), and startup (Bro.do).
.
We educate women SME participants about existing financial products that are available for them, help them identify the different features of each (e.g., collateral vs. non-collateral) and inform how they can access it.
.
I’m a bit surprised with the fact that most of them are not familiar with angel investment, and they’re even more surprised to know the fact that usually angel investor doesn’t take collaterals, or even interest and refund :)
.
No wonder then that many of them are happy to choose me for their fundraising, and the feeling is mutual :) Because out of 20 startups pitch, I’m interested to follow up with 5 of them.
.
Thank you ANGIN for inviting me and thank you TPSA for the initiative!
