When I was younger, I used to think that I’m an extrovert.
.
My friends know me as a highly sociable person, sometimes like a social butterfly, creating new communities, networking & connecting people.
.
Little that I knew, after socializing especially with lots of people, my battery was always draining to the very low-batt.
.
Even though I like meeting friends and new people, I always need some time for my own in between, just to recharge my energy.
.
Only after I learned about MBTI I know for sure that I am an introvert. Because I clearly gain energy within myself, not from outsiders.
.
Introvert or extrovert can’t be measured by how sociable we are, because an introvert could also be highly sociable too.
.
Introvert or extrovert is all about how you get energy: from within (contemplate, read, write, listen to music, just be by myself), or from outside (hangout with friends, curhat with besties, talk to strangers).
.
As in my case, especially when my energy is low, I rarely talk or curhat even with besties coz it can be so draining for me. I have no desire to fit in since I feel content with myself.
.
Instead, I gain my energy back after being alone by myself, soaking in hot tub with relaxing music and stay in my bedroom a whole day, like what I’m doing exactly right now.
.
So, are you an introvert, or extrovert?
