Networking

Eversince I came out of my “cave” a year ago, my days were filled with so many meetings & events.

Take example the last whole week.

Monday:  seminar invitation from Telkom (unfortunately I cant attend), and Mobile Monday at night where I met lotsa people in mobile & web industry.

Tuesday: meeting in Octovate.

Wednesday: seminar invitation from Warta Ekonomi (unfortunately I cant attend), lunch meeting with Andy Zain in Oakroom, coffee in Starbucks with Yahoo! guys Pak Budi P and Haswar, meet Jakarta Globe journalist Lisa in Riung Sunda, high tea with Andi S Boediman in Magenta, meeting Kevin Mintaraga in Loewy, technical meeting for #Startuplokal meetup with initiators, apprentice, jurors & MC in Trans TV, then dinner in HolyCow Steak.

Thursday: Ponds event in Ponds Institute, then “selametan” for Fimela new office in Grand Indonesia.

Friday: Yahoo! Community event in @atamerica where I met lotsa socmed people incl Wimar Witoelar, Gita Wirjawan, and my probably-the-most-handsome twitter follower Christian Sugiono :D

Saturday: seminar in Michelle’s school about Psychology of Winning in the morning, then in the afternoon attending Fashionese Daily Garden Party in Museum Keramik where I met lotsa fashionable ladies.

Question: why do I love attending meetings & events?

In meetings, I always got many insights and knowledge. The key is: listen more, and u’ll get more.

In events, there’s always new people we can get to know and learn the best of them. The only “steal” that is not a sin is stealing others’ best value for our self-improvement.

On top of that, I do love the networking part. Coz for me, spending time for networking is a good investment, either for short or long term. I dont know when I will need them and for what purpose, but I know for sure that each person in my network -including you- is important :)
