Regeneration
Continuing my previous post about To Born or Reborn, regeneration is one of the most important things I learned in building a community.
The best time to regenerate is when we’re on top. When people in the community still have strong will to share the same passion and people outside the community still keep an eye on us. That’s the best moment to search for the best talent to help us in leading the community.
What I learned from Blogbugs was, when the founder(s) didn’t have more time and didn’t eager to manage the community anymore, activities within the community become way much reducing. It used to have gatherings at least once a week, then become once a month, and become no gathering at all…
It’s either we can but don’t want, or we want but just can’t (due to limitation of time, resource, energy, etc). Thus, we need to regenerate so that as leaders we can focus on strategic thinking, and the best talents can learn from us while tackling operational duties.
In #StartupLokal, we call the best talents as #StartupLokal apprentice. They’re proven to be very helpful and give big support & contribution to the community, as well as eager to learn from the initiators. Here they are…
Joshua Kevin, BINUS student with GPA 4.00 (!), writer at Penn Olson, and East Venture associate, is responsible for startuplokal.org contents & editorial.
Kreshna Bayu Aji, account manager LewatMana.com, studied in BINUS, is responsible for #Startuplokal events & organizer.
Ilman Akbar, founder of AnakUI.com, studied in Fasilkom UI, is responsible for #Startuplokal technicals & general affairs.
We don’t offer them anything, they don’t get paid at all, but still they’re eager to give their best contribution for the community. What we can give in return is “only” the experience and network =)
