“Blame” it to the previous post and its comments, I revisit my 2002 blog archive and again, get drowned to it.
.
To the beauty of an era when internet connection was very limited and data package was still expensive.
.
When Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, Youtube, even Friendster or any social media has not even existed.
.
When there was no Whatsapp, Line, Blackberry Messenger or iMessage or Skype; only MIRC, Yahoo! Messenger, SMS and phone calls.
.
When internet especially MIRC & Blogger initially connect us but we get real interaction and maintain it in real life through weekly even daily gathering.
.
Now internet connection is super affordable and even free that makes literally everyone can have access to it.
.
Yes it’s wonderful to see how internet can help us get connected to each other and form a broader network.
.
Yet it’s painful to see how we get more connected with cyber world but then often get disconnected from real world.
.
When people sit next to each other but rarely have meaningful conversation, not even talk thanks to earphones.
.
As I read somewhere in @pennlive : technology was supposed to connect us, but we’re more disconnected than ever.
.
“We spend too much time isolating ourselves and disconnecting from the real world in order to maintain the perception of being connected.”
.
Are we willing to disconnect in order to connect and reconnect? 🤔
.
