My friend @lyunita is financial advisor and working on project for financial literacy. She asked how we teach our kids about finance. I said, most of us were taught how to save money, but rarely taught how to spend it wisely. Thus, many of us spent on things we want instead of what we truly need. Some even become shopaholic due to the euphoria of having own money. So, we started to teach kiddos how to spend their money well. When traveling, we gave them petty cash that they can spend for the things they want/need. If they spend it too fast, we will not top up. So they know when and how much they can afford to spend their money wisely.
