“Hi. Where do you come from?”, a friendly man greeted me as I grab a chair on VIP dinner reception at Waikiki Yacht Club. 🚢
🔵
“Indonesia, 21 hours flight half the globe all the way to Hawaii”, ✈️ I answered. Then he grabbed a seat next to me and said,
🔵
“Oh! My Indonesian born grandpa used to call me ‘binatang’ and I didn’t know what it means until I visited Bali a few years ago” 😂
🔵
His wife joined the table and so did my husband. “We have four children and six grandchildren,” he said (CMIIW).
🔵
And we were like, “What? You don’t look like a grandpa yet.” And I wondered, “If I may ask, how old are you?” He doubled the surprise with the answer: 64 🙀
🔵
“I got heart attack just a month after my company got acquired and I was like, c'mon, are You joking? I haven’t even spent a penny yet!” 😅
🔵
“So, you do startup things too?”, I asked without a clue. “I founded Blue Planet”, he answered in humble tone.
🔵
Later I found out, Blue Planet founded Blue Startups, that held the event that night. And the company he sold was Blue Lava, Tetris Wireless License.
🔵
Ladies and gents, he’s Henk Rogers, the man who brought legendary Tetris worldwide. 👏
